Steve Craft

Stephen Craft is the Director of Percussion for the Bartlesville Public Schools, as well as Associate Principal Percussionist and Assistant Timpanist with both the Tulsa Opera and the newly formed Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.  He is originally a native of Indiana, and a graduate of the University of Louisville, School of Music. During his 10 years in Bartlesville, his percussion ensembles have received superior ratings at district and state solo & ensemble contests for the past ten years, as well as having a large number of All-State percussionists over his tenure.  His students have made the Oklahoma All-State Band thirty times in the past seven years including the last two years having a record number of seven students in the percussion section. The Bartlesville High School Steel Band, under the direction of Steve Craft, has had numerous public appearances including Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society, OK Mozart and multiple performances in Europe.

Along with performing as a symphonic percussionist in Tulsa, Steve has performed with such groups as the Fort Smith Symphony, the OK Mozart Orchestra (Solisti New York), the Illinois Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Keith Lockhart. He was the percussionist for several touring musicals including Hello Dolly, Dream Girls, and Titanic.  Steve is also a member of Trifarium, a contemporary percussion group. This group has performed percussion recitals and educational performances for school age children throughout Kentucky, Indiana and South Dakota. Steve is a member of the Something Steel-Steel Band in Tulsa and the Caribe’ Band of Steel in Louisville, KY.
