John Ford

John Ford, originally from Philadelphia, PA, has a BM in Oboe performance from ORU, and has been a professional guitar player and instructor for several years.  He also traveled on the road for two years with several high profile Christian artists to over 40 states and 13 countries as lead guitarist.

John has played in the Signature Symphony for 10 years–both oboe and guitar, and has also performed with the Fort Smith Symphony, Northern Arkansas Symphony, and the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra. He also teaches privately (guitar and oboe) to many students each year, and is an adjunct faculty member at Tulsa Community College.

John also plays professionally with several local bands including the Barracudas, OPP, Cody McCombs, Grady Nichols, Jenny Labow, Something Steel, Pantini, and has also played with Peter Cetera as well as opened for national acts such as Foreigner and Liz Phair.

John is currently a Worship Associate and Lead Guitarist at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow, as well as the Director of the church’s music school, Albany School of Music.  He resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with his wife, Jessica, and their 2 year old son, Ivan.
